IV Education

Why is hydration so important?

Drinking enough water each day is crucial for many reasons: to regulate body temperature, keep joints lubricated, prevent infections, deliver nutrients to cells, and keep organs functioning properly. Being well-hydrated also improves sleep quality, cognition, and mood.

The age-old belief that each person needs eight 8-ounce is partially true. 64 ounces is a great overall target, but the amount needed will vary from person to person. The truth is that many people struggle to actually drink the appropriate amount of fluid for their body.

Physical exertion, heat, or illness will also deplete any fluid stores that you have built up during the day.

This becomes the set-up for feeling sluggish or just awful, and can also create other health issues related to joints, organs, or infections.

What are the benefits of IV hydration?

An IV is inserted directly into your bloodstream, which is one of the fastest routes to get something into your system (your bloodstream is the highway transportation system). There's a reason that illicit drug use often involves needles and injection - it gets to the user quicker and highly concentrated.

When you are deficient with your fluid intake or stores in your body, you could quite honestly drink more fluids to feel better. But realistically, that's difficult to actually/physically do.

An IV with fluids will very quickly (and nearly effortlessly for you) hydrate your body.  When you add vitamins/minerals to the IV bag, you create a supercharged one-two punch to you system. Most people feel better very quickly when this happens.
